How Much Is A Selmer 123f Student Oboe Worth?

Q: Hi, I have a Selmer 123f Student Oboe. It looks as it is in mint condition, it has been well taken care of and the corks have been replaced a few years ago. My brother used it in 6th to 10th grade and he graduated from high school in 2008, so it is about 7 years old, but in very good condition for its age. How much could I get for it? Thanks.

A: You might be able to get about $1000 for it actually (about half the current going rate for a new one). Since it's in good condition, but 7 years old, asking for half of the "new" value is reasonable.
