How much could i get for my drum set?

Q: I found a old pearl drum set in my Attic and I took off the old plastic coating and hardware. I then refinished it to a tobacco color natural wood and replaced all of the old hardware. It is in good condition but there are a few nick in the wood but still looks amazing. It currently has attack heads but would change those if it was worth it. How much could I get for these drums?

A: Sorry i don't know how much your drum set is worth. Wanted to give you a few suggestions though. Try looking in The Bargain Hunters guide or The Want Ad. They have a Musical Instrument section that might be able to help you out. Perhaps someone is selling a set like yours & you'll be able to set your price that way. Also look up Used Musical Instruments stores in your area.

Stringman recalled fondly Comox Valley Record

A throng of local musicians and friends of the late Joe Jackson crowded into the Merville Hall recently to celebrate his life and times.

Jackson was a longtime resident of the Comox Valley who had a career as a mechanic and worked throughout B.C. and the Yukon.

He was also a musician who eventually used his mechanical skills to build and repair violins, violas, cellos and bows.

He was a mainstay with the strings community and though he has passed on, his instruments are still being played by dozens of musicians throughout the Valley.

The Merville Hall was full of music and good times as classical and folk-style fiddle players entertained the audience with a whole variety of musical genres.

Several touching speeches were made, which gave everyone a great insight into Jackson’s humble but generous life. There was also a sharing of food and friendship, and the Merville Hall glowed as friends of Joe Jackson reconnected.

In recognition of Jackson’s dedication to creating and maintaining many Comox Valley musical instruments like violins, cellos and bows, a Musical Instrument Lending Library will be set up, with instruments that can be loaned to musicians so that everyone can have the opportunity to learn to play.
